Support through donations or joining the Friends of the Library

Donations are an important source of funding for the Library and are tax-deductible.  Many supporters make donations as part of the Elbert County Public Library's Annual Holiday Giving Campaign.  Others prefer to honor  or memorialize friends and family members by making a gift to the either library for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. or as a memorial contribution upon the death of a loved one.  Unless directed for a specific item or program, donations to each library are generally used to supplement local funds for materials and programs.

The Friends of the Elbert County Public Library and Friends of the Bowman Library are library-affiliated organizations that support the work and mission of the Elbert County Public Library  and Bowman Library respectively through fundraising, volunteerism, and library advocacy.  Both groups prepare and man book sales, assist with Summer Reading, and promote their library within their community.  Benefits of being a "Friend" include first pick of book sale items and the satisfaction of contributing to something worthwhile to help in the community.

Friends of the Elbert County Public Library:   Individual -- $25 annually; Family (up to 4 per household) -- $50 annually; Corporate -- $100 annually , and Lifetime -- $300.00 one time contribution.   Checks should be made payable to:  Friends of the Elbert County Public Library, 345 Heard Street, Elberton, GA 30635

The Elbert County Public Library Friends group regularly assists Library staff with office tasks, shelving books, and presenting programs at area daycare centers & schools.  If you are interested in becoming a "shelf elf" or pre-school story teller, give us a call, and we will gladly get you trained and ready to work.  In addition, there are often one-time volunteer opportunities with Summer Reading, book sales, and other special activities.

Friends of the Bowman Library: Individual--$5.00 annually, Family (up to 4 household members)--$30.00 annually, Corporate Membership --$100.00 annually, Life Member--$300.00. 

Bowman Library Friends receive regular e-mails, invitations to members only events and more.
